Lab #1
Foundations and Fundamentals© is the introductory course in the Haynes Method of Neuromuscular Dry Needling® that lays the groundwork for advanced protocols that will be taught in courses 2 and 3 and subsequent certification if desired. HMDN1 Must be completed before registering for either HMDN2 or HMDN3. Foundations and Fundamentals discusses the history of dry needling, physiology, needle safety, indications and contraindications, and danger zones of dry needling. Comprehensive review of current literature and best evidence will be discussed as well as anatomy review using a 3-D application that can be purchased prior to the course for review of the relevant anatomy (this will also be used in later courses for protocol description). Critical to competence and confidence with dry needling will be functional surface anatomy palpation labs in each body region. Upon successful completion of the course the participant will have the skills in place to return to clinic the next day and implement the dry needling concepts that were taught during the course.
